The state of press freedom is deemed unfavorable in three-quarters of the world’s nations, according to the 2024 World Press Freedom Index. We work in countries that are affected by this. MDIF has invested in media in 48 countries in Africa, Asia, Europe and the Americas. We have also worked with numerous outlets in other countries where the media are under threat through our Media Advisory Services and regional programs. Each year, we respond to new opportunities and add countries to our portfolio.
