Our Director of Communications Peter Whitehead appeared on the podcast ‘Talkin’ Solutions: Highlighting Impact-Driven Companies Doing Societal Good” with William Cheshier.
Peter discussed the importance of a free and independent press to democracy, the role media play in educating and informing citizens, and some examples of where MDIF clients have made a real difference to their communities. He also talked about some of the challenges independent news organisations face to sustain themselves when faced with governments seeking to interfere with their editorial.
Peter looked at how MDIF financing and advisory empowers media to sustain themselves and provide the public with the reliable news and information they need to make educated decisions on social issues, policies and elections.
