The NewsDay website has been ranked as the third most accessed online platform on mobile devices in Zimbabwe after facebook.com and google.com. Opera Software’s latest State of the Mobile Web report ranked www.newsday.co.zw ahead of international sites like twitter.com, yahoo.com and youtube.com.
Vincent Kahiya, Editor-in-Chief of NewsDay’s publishing company Alpha Media Holdings, said: “This is an endorsement of the initiatives that we have taken to enhance the presentation of our content through the adoption of multimedia strategies. We will strive to continue innovating and revamping our platforms to promote more interaction with our readers and advertisers.”
The introduction to the report stated: “The country with most local websites in the top-ten list is Zimbabwe, with four out of the ten spots being local sites, with national top-level-domains. Newsday, a news site, leads the pack in Zimbabwe.”
