Joanna Różycka-Iwan appointed MDIF Chief Investment Officer

Joanna Różycka-Iwan has been appointed MDIF’s Chief Investment Officer.

Joanna, who has worked with MDIF for more than a decade, has stepped up from her position as Deputy Chief Investment Officer and brings deep experience of MDIF’s organisation, clients and processes.

“I am delighted to have Joanna as our new CIO,” said Harlan Mandel, MDIF Chief Executive Officer. “Over many years Joanna has demonstrated outstanding skill and judgment in senior investment positions and has been pivotal to some of our most important investments.”

Since joining MDIF in 2012, Joanna has managed a portfolio of debt and equity impact investments across Central and Southeast Europe and Asia, notably executing a number of major European media deals in Europe in recent years. She is a member of several investee Supervisory Boards, specialising in shaping strategic priorities, performance monitoring and financial management.

Prior to joining MDIF, Joanna advised companies for Deloitte and Crido Taxand, obtaining more than EUR 150 million financing for projects in different sectors (environmental protection, intermodal transport, renewable energy, innovation, trainings, SSC, R&D). Joanna has been a member of ACCA since 2014 and FCCA since 2019, and is a Leadership Academy for Poland 2021 alumna. She holds an MA in corporate finance from SGH Warsaw School of Economics and an MA in international relations from Warsaw University. Joanna is based in Warsaw.
