MDIF’s CEO Harlan Mandel appeared on WAN-IFRA‘s new media freedom podcast, The Back Story. The episode, entitled ‘Show me the money – Censorship and financial independence’ also featured Fatemah Farag of Welad ElBalad Media Services, a network of local newspapers in Egypt, and Sonny Swe, founder and CEO of Black Knight Media Group and publisher of Frontier Myanmar magazine.
The guests discussed the importance of financial independence for news companies and the search for revenue strategies that work in an increasingly digital environment.
