We are pleased to announce that Bilal Randeree has been appointed to the new position of Managing Director, Media Programs.
In his new role, Bilal will focus on global strategy-setting, coordinating Amplify/regional program activities and overseeing their effective implementation.

Bilal joined MDIF in 2017 as Program Director for Africa and MENA and managed the design and successful implementation of the South Africa Media Innovation Program (SAMIP), SAMIP’s Regional Expansion and the Nigeria Media Innovation Program (NAMIP). Most recently he prepared the launch of Amplify South Africa. Bilal was also deeply involved in MDIF’s work supporting independent media in Ethiopia under the PRIMED program.
Before joining MDIF, Bilal worked for KPMG, Al Jazeera and successfully scaled a digital media startup. He is a Chartered Accountant (CPA equivalent) and holds a post-graduate diploma in Journalism and Media Studies from Rhodes University. He received his undergraduate degree in Finance and Marketing, and honours degree in Accounting from the University of Kwa-Zulu Natal.
